McAdams Talks About McDonald’s Job
– Rachel McAdams is getting into familiar territory with her new movie, “The Vow,” which is a powerful love story, much like the film that made her a name in Hollywood, “The Notebook.”
In the February issue of Glamour magazine, McAdams discusses the film and how, before her turn as a romantic leading lady, she worked at McDonald’s and dealt with some obsessive hand washing.
When Glamour writer Alexandra Marshall asked the actress if her Wikipedia page was correct in stating that she once worked at McDonald’s, McAdams said that she had worked at the fast food restaurant.
“Yeah, for a good three years. My sister and brother worked there. My sister was my manager,” McAdams said.
The 33-year-old actress went on to reveal that she was a terrible employee and spent way too much time washing her hands.
“I had a little bit of an OCD thing with hand washing and just didn’t have time. They were like, ‘Hey, the drive-through’s backing up. Stop washing your hands!’”
Besides working at the fast-food chain, McAdams also didpetitive figure skating. She turned down an opportunity to train for the Olympics and described her skating days as having lots of blue eye shadow and glitter and sequins.
The eye shadow and sequin are a mere memory in the photo spread in the Glamour issue.
